narrative of the upcoming edition of our architecture biennial exhibition. In particular, we envision her
photographic series“Elevation” to be the most suitable to be presented in Venice. We deeply appreciate the
a-spatial and atemporal atmosphere of her project, as well as the strong emotional impact of her shots, which
capture the lines and the geometry of buildings, with careful minimalism and harmony. Moreover, we
acknowledge her skillful use of light and the balance of the colour palettes.
We think her work would contribute to enrich the selection of photographers showcasing their presentations in
the exhibition, and has a powerful link with the main concepts of our exhibition, Time, Space and Existence “

Door ECC Italy ben ik uitgenodigd voor deelname aan de Architectuur Biennale
met als thema “TIME SPACE EXISTENCE”
dat zal plaatsvinden van 20 mei- 26 nov. 2023. De editie van 2021 is afgesloten met 300.000 bezoekers ondanks de epidemie. De biennale zal plaatsvinden in het historische centrum van Venetië. Mijn werk zal worden getoond in één van de palazzi. Entree is gratis voor bezoekers.

Deelnemers in de afgelopen edities waren bijv. Fumihiko Maki, Peter Eisenman, Balkrishna Doshi, Daniel Libeskind, SOM, Odile Decq, Tatiana Bilbao, Denise Scott Brown, Moshe Safdie, Ricardo Bofill en Kengo Kuma.
Ik wil deelnemen met mijn project “ELEVATION”
“Elevation” sluit aan bij recente series die ik heb gerealiseerd en bij de thema’s die ik doorgaans hanteer: eenzaamheid, isolement, vervreemding. Altijd op een ingetogen wijze, in een verstilde sfeer. De mens komt steeds vaker in mijn werk naar voren. Ook dit keer. De mens ontstijgt zichzelf in deze serie door hem of haar letterlijk op een hoger niveau te plaatsen. Door dit keer gebruik te maken van samengestelde foto’s, krijgen de beelden een meer vervreemdend karakter dan de foto’s in mijn voorafgaande series. Hiermee wil ik aandacht vragen voor kwesties waar wij mee te maken krijgen. Waar staan we als mens, wat staat ons te doen, wie zijn we nu eigenlijk? Filosofische kwesties die ook betrekking hebben op het stijgende water en op (het toch al kwetsbare) Venetië. Aan de serie wordt nog steeds gewerkt; de gehele serie zal in gepubliceerde wijze bij de tentoonstelling worden getoond.
Het project zou ik mede met uw steun willen realiseren.
