Hallo!

Wat fijn dat je hier terecht bent gekomen.

Ik ben Satijn Panyigay, een Nederlands-Hongaarse fotografe met een studio in Utrecht. Ik werk momenteel aan een publicatie van mijn werk, genaamd VOID.
Een droom die bijna uitkomt.. maar om dit boek te kunnen laten drukken heb ik jouw hulp hard nodig!

De tegenprestaties zijn hier rechts te zien en in deze tekst is verdere uitleg te vinden én de foto's die je kunt kiezen als (special edition) prints.

Mijn werk: Lege ruimtes om tot jezelf te komen

Ik ben gefascineerd door de psyche van de mens en haal inspiratie uit alles dat wij in het leven mee maken, maar fotografeer voornamelijk lege ruimtes die tijdelijk hun functie niet vervullen, en door bijna niemand gezien zouden worden als ik ze niet had vastgelegd.

Zij staan o.a. metafoor voor het 'naar binnen keren' en geven je de ruimte om even niets te hoeven. Een onderprikkeling, om te kijken wat er dan bovenkomt. Ik doe hiermee een zachte oproep om te stoppen met rennen, even rustig adem te halen en te vertragen. En in die rust te zien wat er allemaal te ontdekken valt, in jezelf en om je heen.

Dat is namelijk wat ikzelf doe als ik op de locaties ben.
Het fotograferen doe ik analoog, vanwege het trage proces en omdat ik op het moment van fotograferen niet afgeleid word door bezig te zijn met het resultaat: dat zie ik namelijk pas als ik mijn negatieven in scan. Vervolgens bewerk ik mijn beelden digitaal, zodat ze nog meer een weergave worden van wat ik op het moment in die ruimte ervaarde.
Ook daar neem ik altijd ruim de tijd voor.

Het boek VOID

VOID toont een selectie van 40 foto's van de afgelopen jaren op intuïtieve, niet-chronologische volgorde, waar voornamelijk lege museumzalen en museumdepots te zien zijn (o.a. Museum/Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, het Kröller-Müller Museum, Museum Van Bommel Van Dam).
Leeg betekent hier: zonder bezoekers én zonder kunst.

Het ontwerp door Sybren Kuiper - SYB Photobooks- , vraagt om elke foto met onverdeelde aandacht te bekijken.
VOID wordt namelijk een uitvouwbaar 'flatbook', waardoor alle pagina's plat open vouwen en er geen beeldverlies is in de naden.

Het boek is 21 x 32 cm, de staande beelden worden dubbel zo groot, en de liggende beelden klappen zelfs uit naar 42 x 64 cm!
Hierdoor lijkt het bijna alsof je je in de ruimte bevindt en zijn er vele details te ontdekken, vaak een soort 'imperfecties', door de mens achtergelaten.

Door het uitvouwen van de pagina's kom je als kijker hopelijk in een rustige staat van zijn, een bijna meditatieve ervaring. Maar het is óók een ontdekkingstocht, die lijkt op mijn wandelingen door de gebouwen (om elke hoek kan iets nieuws te zien zijn).

Boekpresentatie

De presentatie van VOID is in het voorjaar van 2023 in Amsterdam, met een tentoonstelling van werken uit het boek. We maken er natuurlijk ook een feest van!
Want mede dankzij jou is het project gelukt en dat wil ik graag met je vieren.
Je kunt je boek daar ophalen en ik signeer hem dan desgewenst met liefde voor je.

Het werkt zo:

Door deze tekst heen zijn 5 foto's uit mijn nieuwe serie 'Deep Space I' te vinden, die voor het eerst te zien zijn in dit boek!
Deze beelden zijn te kiezen als 'special editions' in formaat 22,5x30 cm (editie 16 per foto) en als groot formaat kunstwerken (editie 4 per foto). Prachtig geprint op zacht katoenpapier.

Je mag natuurlijk kiezen welke foto je graag wil ontvangen (genummerd 'foto 1-5').
Als ik zie dat je een donatie gedaan hebt hiervoor, stuur ik je een mail om te vragen welke foto je wil hebben. Als je vragen hebt, of je wil je voorkeur alvast mailen: [email protected]

Mocht je graag twee edities ontvangen bij één boek, kan dat door dezelfde optie '€200 of meer' te kiezen en daar €350 in te vullen. Ik mail je dan ook om te vragen welke editie je kiest, en dan kun je er dus twee aangeven.

In het geval dat je een ingelijst werk kiest:

Het werk naar keuze ontvang je in één van de formaten waar ik normaliter mee werk: 52,5x70 cm of 90x120 cm.
Prachtig geprint en ingelijst (Fotolab/Profilex Lijstenmakers) met museumglas of mat acryl (in overleg).
Je steunt hiermee óók de tentoonstelling bij de boekpresentatie!
Ik laat het werk namelijk voor je vervaardigen, maar zal het eerst daar nog tonen (voorjaar 2023, Amsterdam). Na afloop van dit evenement ontvang je het aangekochte werk.
Je naam, je collectie of je bedrijf wordt vermeld in het boek en bij het werk bij de boekpresentatie. Je ontvangt daarbij ook twee VOID boeken + twee sets kaarten.

My work: Empty spaces to find room for yourself

I am fascinated by the human psyche, but mainly photograph empty spaces that temporarily do not fulfil their function, and hardly anyone would have seen them if I had not captured them. They are, among other things, a metaphor for 'turning inward' and give you the space to do nothing for a while. An understimulation, to see what comes up. With this I make a gentle call to stop running, and take a deep breath, slow down. And in that peace to see what there is to discover, in yourself and around you.

That's what I do when I'm at the locations. I shoot analog, because of the slow process and because at the time of shooting I'm not distracted by being busy with the result, because I only see that when I pick up my negatives and scan them. Then I digitally edit my images so that they become even more of a representation of what I was experiencing in that space at the time. I always take plenty of time for that too.

The book VOID

VOID shows a selection of 40 photos from recent years in an intuitive, non-chronological order, showing mainly empty museum rooms and their depots (including Museum/Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Kröller-Müller Museum, Museum Van Bommel Van Dam). Empty here means: without visitors and without art.

The design by Sybren Kuiper, asks to view each photo with undivided attention. VOID will be an expandable 'flatbook', so that all pages fold open flat and there is no loss of image in the seams.
By unfolding the pages, the viewer will hopefully enter a peaceful state of being, an almost meditative experience. But it is also an adventure to discover, similar to my walks through the buildings (something new can be seen around every corner).

The book is 21 x 32 cm, the portrait images are twice as large, and the landscape images even expand to 42 x 64 cm! This makes it almost as if you are in space and there are many details to discover, often a kind of 'imperfections', left behind by humans.

The idea of ​​the book is that when someone is literally and figuratively given the space to stand still for a while, everything is allowed to surface. The narrative is therefore largely in what happens to the viewer when a moment is offered to turn inward. Into the void for a moment, and see that it doesn't have to be scary there, but maybe very nice and quiet. In addition, it is also a look behind the scenes of well-known places that we often visit, but never see in their naked state.

The book launch of VOID is in the spring of 2023 in Amsterdam, with an exhibition of works from the book. Of course we also make it a party!
