HONK!? The exhibition HONK is the first public showcase of the work from the 2023 graduating classes of the ArtScience Interfaculty, organised by the Stichting ArtScience. For one week in May 2023 we will be exhibiting 30 new-media installations and leading live workshops in The Hague. HONK will provide a multi-sensory exhibit supported by an ambitious program of workshops, talks and tours, to share our work with the people of The Hague, including tours for local residents and school children.

We really need your help to bring this exhibition to life! With your generous donations we will be able to finance the ideal exhibition locations, workshops and guest speakers.

We have secured some funding from the Royal Academy of Art, but we still need to raise money to produce this exhibition. We are asking for €6000 to make this happen. After fees this gives us €5500.

What will this money go towards?

• An amazing venue suitable for 30 large installations and performances.

• Funds towards our workshop programme, which involves organizing tours for local school children who are interested in the arts.

• Much needed materials and equipment to build our exhibition.

• Advertising for our show: we really want to engage with local communities and reach a wide and diverse audience.

• A professional photographer to document our work: this documentation will really help us in starting our careers.

The Stichting ArtScience is a creative platform founded by artists who came together through the unique interdisciplinary bachelor and master program ArtScience , an interfaculty that connects The Royal Conservatoire and The Royal Academy of Art The Hague.

What is ArtScience to us? ArtScience happens when research driven by curiosity moves you across traditional boundaries between artistic and academic disciplines, creating new methodologies and hybrid practices that don't fit neatly into art or science. ArtScience creates a space to explore surprising connections between the arts and the academic sciences.

Accessibility and malleability are the pillars of our new scientific language. We wish to facilitate events that reflect on the effects of advances in science and technology on the arts and on society. At the same time, we wish to engage people with our research through direct sensory experience, fun and experimentation.

We are united by a desire to investigate how materials and media behave in new situations. We work by testing, hacking, playing, joking and listening. We make experiments between art and science. We make sounds and movements, animations and concerts.

HONK!? De tentoonstelling HONK is de eerste openbare presentatie van het werk van de afstudeer klassen van de ArtScience Interfaculty 2023, georganiseerd door de Stichting ArtScience. Gedurende een week in mei 2023 tonen we 30 nieuwe-media installaties en leiden we live workshops in Den Haag. HONK zal een multi-zintuiglijke ervaring bieden, ondersteund door een ambitieus programma van workshops, lezingen en rondleidingen om ons werk te delen met de bevolking van Den Haag, inclusief rondleidingen voor buurtbewoners en schoolkinderen.

We hebben echt uw hulp nodig om deze tentoonstelling tot leven te brengen! Met uw gulle giften kunnen we de ideale tentoonstellingslocaties, workshops en gastsprekers financieren.

We hebben enige financiering van de Koninklijke Academie der Beeldende Kunsten (KABK) verkregen, maar we moeten nog steeds geld inzamelen om deze tentoonstelling te realiseren. We vragen 6000 euro om dit mogelijk te maken. Na aftrek van kosten levert dit ons effectief €5500 op.

Waar gaat dit geld naar toe?

- Een geweldige locatie die geschikt is voor 30 grote installaties en voorstellingen.

- Geld voor ons workshopprogramma, waarbij we rondleidingen organiseren voor lokale schoolkinderen die geïnteresseerd zijn in kunst.

- Belangrijke materialen en apparatuur om onze tentoonstelling op te bouwen.

- Reclame voor onze tentoonstelling: we willen echt in contact komen met de lokale gemeenschap en een breed en divers publiek bereiken.

- Een professionele fotograaf om ons werk te documenteren: deze documentatie zal ons echt helpen bij de start van onze carrière.

Wij willen evenementen mogelijk maken die reflecteren op de effecten die vooruitgang heeft op de wetenschap en technologie op kunst en de samenleving. Tegelijkertijd willen we mensen betrekken bij ons onderzoek door middel van directe zintuiglijke ervaring, plezier en experimenten.

We zijn verenigd door het verlangen om te onderzoeken hoe materialen en media zich gedragen in nieuwe situaties. We werken door te testen, te hacken, te spelen, grappen te maken en te luisteren.
