HET PROJECT:

We houden er allemaal van om de dieren om ons heen gelukkig en gezond te zien, maar in het echte leven raken dieren gewond en hebben ze hulp nodig. En als dat gebeurt is de Dierenambulance er om te helpen.

Onze documentaire laat het werkterrein van deze dienst in Nederland zien, hoe het publiek er tegenaan kijkt en wat mensen motiveert om vrijwilliger te worden. Sommige mensen nemen dierenambulances niet zo serieus. Maken ze echt een verschil? Wat vinden de familie en vrienden van de chauffeur? En de belangrijkste vraag, waarom doen ze het?

Om antwoorden te vinden willen we John een paar dagen volgen. Hij is een chauffeur van de dierenambulance en met zijn charismatische en stoutmoedige persoonlijkheid zal hij ons een inkijkje geven en het aan de hele wereld laten zien. Dit zal mensen bewuster maken van de ontberingen die dit werk met zich meebrengt en hopelijk inspireren om de dienstuit te breiden naar andere gebieden.

THE PROJECT:

We all love to see animals and the wildlife around us happy and healthy, but in real life animals do get injured and need help. And when that happens Animal Ambulance is there to assist.

Our documentary will show the workfields of this unusual service in theNetherlands, how the public perceives it and what motivates people to volunteer. Some people don't take animal ambulances that serious. Are they really making a difference? What do the driver's family and friends think about them? And the most important question, why do they do it?

In order to find answers we want to follow John for a couple of days. He is an animal ambulance driver and with his charismatic and bold personality he will give us an inside view of this work and show it to the entire world. This will make people more conscious about hardships that this job involves and hopefully inspire them to extend the service to other areas.
