I am Guillermo, a drummer, composer and visual artist based in The Hague. After 10+ years as a professional musician and 13 studio LPs recorded, 7 of which I produced or co-produced, it is time for me to present my first work as a composer and band leader, Songs of Rage and Impotence .

(out)Rage, frustration, impotence, powerlessness, these are feelings I often experience when I am confronted with the wrong-doings of the systems that govern our world, earth, lives of other humans, and non-humans.

To process these feelings, I wrote and produced 12 songs and assembled my dream band. Now I am asking you for your support in order to be able to record them and turn them into a physical reality.

With your help, I am aiming to raise 1/4th of the total budget, which is the minimum I need to get this project rolling. This money will cover most of the studio and recording expenses , which will happen on 12th-15th of February at Trafalgar Estudios .

These 12 songs we are recording are a combination of modern jazz aesthetics, indie-pop-rock moods and contemporary electroacoustic processing in the form of an extended quartet. The lineup includes Raúl Santana on piano/synthesizers, Danilo Mormandi on electric guitar, River Adomeit on double bass and myself on drums, and is completed with JuanLu Montoro on electronics and sound design. There are some chill songs, some more uplifting ones, some pretty dark ones, even a little bit of metal!

Ik ben Guillermo, een drummer, componist en beeldend kunstenaar gevestigd in Den Haag. Na 10+ jaar als professioneel muzikant gwerkt te hebben en 13 opgenomen studio-LP's, waarvan ik er 7 produceerde of co-produceerde, is het nu tijd geworden om mijn eerste werk als componist en bandleider te presenteren: Songs of Rage and Impotence.

Woede, frustratie, onmacht, machteloosheid, verbolgenheid, dit zijn gevoelens die ik vaak ervaar wanneer ik geconfronteerd word met de wandaden van de systemen die overheersend zijn in onze wereld, op aarde, in het leven van andere mensen, van niet-mensen...

Om deze gevoelens te verwerken, schreef en produceerde ik 12 nummers en stelde ik mijn droomband samen. Nu vraag ikjullie steun om ze te kunnen opnemen en om te zetten in een fysieke realiteit: vinyl!!!

Met jullie hulp wil ik 1/4 van het totaal benodigde budget ophalen, wat het minimum is dat ik nodig heb om dit project op de rails te zetten. Dit geld zal het grootste deel van de studio- en opnamekosten dekken; de opnames zullen van 12 - 15 februari plaatsvinden in Trafalgar Estudios in Spanje

De 12 nummers die we opnemen zijn een combinatie van moderne jazz esthetiek, indie-pop-rock stemmingen en hedendaagse electro-akoestische bewerking in de vorm van een uitgebreid kwartet. De lineup bestaat uit Raúl Santana op piano/keyboards/synthesizers, Danilo Mormandi op elektrische gitaar, River Adomeit op contrabas en ikzelf op drums, en wordt aangevuld met JuanLu Montoro voor de elektronica en het sound design. Er zijn enkele chille nummers, enkele meer uplifting nummers, en enkele vrij donkere nummers, zelfs een beetje metal!

Kunst is een fundamentele pijler van mijn leven, en het maken van kunst is mijn manier om me tot deze wereld te verhouden, en mijn innerlijke en uiterlijke relaties ermee vorm te geven. Door dit project te steunen draag je bij aan het afsluiten van het cathartische artistieke proces van het omzetten van verontrustende emoties in een prachtig kunstwerk. Want waar is Kunst anders voor?

Soy Guillermo, batería, compositor y artista visual afincado en La Haya. Tras más de 10 años como músico profesional y 13 LPs grabados, 7 de los cuales he producido o coproducido, ha llegado el momento de presentar mi primer álbum como compositor y líder, Songs of Rage and Impotence .

Rabia, frustración, impotencia, indignación, son sentimientos que a menudo experimento al ver cómo funcionan los sistemas que gobiernan nuestro mundo, la tierra, la vida de otros humanos, no-humanos...

Para procesar estos sentimientos, escribí y produje 12 canciones y reuní a la banda de mis sueños. Ahora te pido tu apoyo con el fin de poder grabar y convertirlas en una realidad física (¡¡Vinilo!!).

Con tu ayuda, pretendo recaudar 1/4 del presupuesto total, que es lo mínimo que necesito para poner en marcha este proyecto. Este dinero cubrirá la mayor parte de los gastos de estudio y grabación, que tendrá lugar del 12 al 15 de febrero en Trafalgar Estudios en Vejer de la Frontera.

Estas 12 canciones que grabaré podrían describirse como una combinación de una estética de jazz moderno, un rollito indie-pop-rock y procesos electroacústicos contemporáneos. La formación incluye a Raúl Santana en el piano/sintetizadores, Danilo Mormandi en la guitarra, River Adomeit en el contrabajo, yo mismo en batería y se completa con JuanLu Montoro en la electrónica y diseño sonoro.

El arte es un pilar fundamental de mi vida, y la creación artística es mi forma de relacionarme con el mundo y de gestionar dichas relaciones (internas y externas) con él. Al apoyar este proyecto estarás contribuyendo a cerrar el proceso de cartársis artística que es la transformación de estas emociones en una obra de arte. Después de todo, ¿para qué sirve el arte si no?
