Dear all,

Last Friday was the opening night of our exhibition '1000 Shape-Shifting Chocolate Chips'. It was wonderful to truly celebrate the realization of our show which we worked extremely hard on these past few months!

During the evening, several performances took place by participating artists such as Martyna Pekala, Lotus Rooijakkers and Ruben Visser. For those who would like to experience these in real life, they will perform during the finissage this Sunday as well!

Tomorrow evening, the exhibition will be open alongside a movie screening which will show the horror classic titled: 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligary'. We will make sure there are some tasty snacks to go with the movie!

We are extremely grateful and happy with the development of the whole process and the new collaborations that unfolded. If not already, we hope to see you soon on one of the opening days of the exhibition!

Information exhibition:

'Where does your favorite artist spend all their working hours in 2023? As your dearest Apple store assistant? Are they selling postcards on Etsy? Or building an empire on tiktok. Being an artist nowadays implies an array of additional skills besides running an individual artistic practice. This exhibition invites fifteen recent graduates to explore the multi-faced roles that contemporary artists occupy today.

With the exhibited artworks as our conversational guides, we want to pose questions and explore curiosities relating the shapeshifting roles of artists nowadays. How do these roles merge into the individual artistic practices -creating hybrid shapes of being? The selected artworks presented in the exhibition, will encapsulate personal reflections and stories of ‘the artists’ as ‘artists’. Hence, the works serve as a reflection upon the life of the artist - inside and outside of the studio -, serving as a starting base for conversations with the public to sprout.'

Exact exhibition program to be announced in the coming week

Dear all,

Today is very special for us: we have reached 100% of our campaign!

Because of this, we have a budget to continue the development of the exhibition and pay all participants and collaborators fairly. This is thanks to all of your donations, which we are incredibly grateful for!

The coming weeks will be very exciting as we will make concrete plans together with all the artists for the build-up and program. It is a new phase which entails a lot of communication, planning and also physical work -as we are starting the real creation of the exhibition!

Last Friday, we had our final fundraising-event at the artist-run space The Balcony in The Hague. It was a lovely evening and some great pieces were created! We included some pictures of the event below for you to see.

We are very much looking forward to the coming weeks and we will keep you up to date during all our final steps.

As you know we have extended our voor de kunst campaign in order to organise one more event that will help us reach our final goal amount. This Friday, we will therefore host a textile sublimation evening at the artist-run space called The Balcony in The Hague!

Description of the event

Milk & Cereals and The Balcony invite you for an exciting evening where you get the chance to make your own drawing and transfer it onto one of the limited-edition Milk & Cereals T-Shirts. Along with this fun activity, you get to learn more about the current exhibition presented at The Balcony whilst enjoying a glass of bubbles and friendly faces.

All income generated will be used to support our current Voor de Kunst Campaign and The Balcony.

Dear all,

We decided to extend our campaign with one extra week as we still need a little help in order to reach our goal amount.

About two weeks ago, we hosted a fundraiser event at See Lab in Scheveningen which brought a lot of joy and support. We are now at 57%, which means that we have almost reached the 75% we need to make a successful campaign.
To give it one final push, we are preparing a second event and we hope to see as many of you there! More information about this will be released in the coming days.

With this extra week we have a lot of trust that we will reach our goal amount!

Dear all,

Last Friday we hosted our fundraising-event at See Lab in Scheveningen. It took lots of hard work to put all of this together within the short amount of time that we had, but we are incredibly happy that we decided to do this. We were blown away by the amount of people that came by to spend this evening together with us and celebrate creative collaboration. It was a lovely evening shared with amazing people, great music and delicious food and drinks.

We are absolutely in awe with the process of the collective drawing that unfolded during the evening. The result of this experimental project will be shown as part of the exhibition ‘1000 Shape-Shifting Chocolate Chips’! It is very exciting to have a work in the exhibition that captures the process of this journey and has a trace of everyone that was at the event this evening.

We are very grateful that See Lab made their beautiful project space available to us. The income generated from this event will be added to our Voor de Kunst Campaign. Thanks again to everyone that decided to spend their evening with us!

Moreover, we are grateful and excited to announce that we have received a donation of 750, - euro from Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Zuid-Holland! This has been a huge progression for our campaign and because of this we are now 10% closer to reaching our final goal.

The past week has been one in which we have gained a tremendous amount of positive spirit. Thank you all for your support and trust in our project!

Studio visits

Last week we had some wonderful studio visits and meetings with the participating artists! These conversations are truly able to give us a more wholesome understanding of the artists their practice and their relation to the theme of the exhibition. Because of this, we are able to start with the floor plan of the show and consider how all works will interact collectively in space!

Contribution Gemeente Den Haag & fundraising-event

We are very happy to announce that Gemeente Den Haag is willing to support our campaign with 1875, - euro!

In order to access this amount, we need to reach 75% of our campaign. Thanks to everyone that has donated up until now, we have already reached 25%! We are extremely grateful that you took the time to look into our project and make a donation.

Now, we are still working very hard to spread the word and thinking of new, interesting ideas to reach the public. One of these ideas is a fundraising-event, which will take place this Friday, 3rd of March, at See Lab in Scheveningen!

About the event:

We invite you to a cozy Friday evening where everyone can enjoy live DJ sets, fine drinks and food while having the possibility to participate in our collective drawing experiment.

The result of the collective drawing will subsequently be part of our exhibition in April: '1000 Shape-Shifting Chocolate Chips'.

All income generated from this evening will be added to our Voor de Kunst Campaign in order to reach our goal and realize the exhibition: '1000 Shape-Shifting Chocolate Chips'
