Een 8-koppige band die close harmony uit Brazilië speelt met een retro sound binnen een eigentijdse setting.
Naast traditionele protestliederen en bekende samba’s maken we ook originele stukken en arrangementen die passen binnen deze tijd, met een vleugje van de nostalgische jaren 70 in Brazilië.
'Cantoria' betekent gezang, en in de volksmond beschrijft 'Cantorias' een uitbundig feest, waar men samenkomt om te zingen.

Wat?
Afgelopen december hebben wij ons debuutalbum opgenomen in Wedgeview Studio’s.
Om dit te realiseren en de plaat ook fysiek uit te kunnen brengen hebben wij jullie hulp nodig!
Jullie donaties willen we gebruiken om mooi artwork te ontwerpen, de CD’s te drukken en die goed te promoten, zodat we iedereen kennis kunnen laten maken met deze fantastische muziek en rijke traditie.

Wanneer?
De komende maanden gaan we de muziek mixen & masteren, concerten plannen en alle voorbereidingen treffen zodat we in het najaar van 2023 ons album kunnen uitbrengen.

We are Cantorias!

An band consisting of 8, that brings Brazilian close harmony with a retro sound in a modern setting. Besides traditional protest songs and well known sambas we also play original songs and arrangements with a modern touch, but always with a hint of that 70’s Brazilian sound.
‘Cantoria’ means to break out in song, a get together where people sing and experience the joy of voices coming together.

What?
In the past year we have recorded our debut album in Wedgeview studios. To realize the release of a physical CD we need your help!
Your donations will be used to have someone design the artwork, for the pressing of the CD’s and the promotion towards the release, so that we can make sure that as many people as possible get to hear the diversity and richness that Brazilian music has to offer.

When?
The coming months we will mix and master the music, plan concerts and prepare everything for the release in the fall of 2023.
