Waar gaat mijn EP over?

ENGLISH VERSION
What is this EP about?
My debut EP, “What Souls Are Made Of”, is about the process of going from cocoon to butterfly, in a colourful world in which nature is a mirror and a companion while going your own path, and embracing yourself for who you are. It is inspired by personal experiences throughout my life, that are made into a poetic story.
How does the EP sound?
The music has a cinematic, story-like atmosphere, and is inspired by a variety of music styles, brought together through the meaning of each song. Berklee's test listeners have described the music as a journey, or as fragments out of a movie.
I made this music as a singer, violinist, songwriter and composer, and there are producers and many musicians that have worked on this project.: there are strings, piano, el. guitar, harp, double bass, el. bass, drums, percussion, backing vocals, and subtle electronic elements such as synths and sampled percussion, all to be heard on this EP.
Small previews are to be heard now and then on my instagram @djessyswan.music, so you can follow me there to stay up to date!
What is this crowdfunding being used for?
To bring this EP into the world, it needs quite something!
The last part of the mixing/production, the mastering, the making of the artwork (including photography, nature-friendly styling, make up, and short videos for Spotify), and of course the pressing of CD's and Vinyl!
What has already happened?
During my Master studies at Berklee College of Music, at the Valencia campus, the EP was recorded. I am very grateful that I got to do this Master, made possible a.o. by funds such as VSB Fonds, het Cultuurfonds, Hendrik Mullerfonds, Fundatie van Renswoude, and a Berklee Scholarship.
In total around 30 people have been a part of recording this EP, and I am very grateful that the part of recording, and a big part of the mixing, we have been able to do during the time at Berklee.
Why should this project be supported?
I believe that when something gets created from the heart, such as this EP, this has the potential to jump out of your heart, and then land in the hearts of other people!
At the moment this world could use more hearts that are warmed, touched, and opened, and I want to contribute to this through my music!
I have written the music in such a way that you get taken on an adventure of a heart that opens in many ways, with lyrics full of beautiful imagery, story-like, cinematic music, and many colours to travel through so that after listening to this EP, you'll walk as a richer, warmer person into this world!
