I'am the third of four siblings and live with my family in Tuscany. I have grown up and live
in a wonderful environment from which only passion can blossom. My passion finds its
highest form of expression in music. Through music I fulfill this strong yearning to express
what I feel.
Currently, I am attending the final year of the classical high school in Florence.
Simultaneously, I am enrolled in the Fiesole Conservatory, (www.scuolamusicafiesole.it)
where I try to spend as much time as possible playing.
I started studying the piano relatively late, at the age of 10, through private lessons. Then,
thanks to the encouragement of my teacher, after 3 years, I enrolled in the 'Fondazione
Scuola di Musica di Fiesole' conservatory. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to
attend such a beautiful and stimulating environment and especially to have such a skilled
teacher.
Star pupil of Maria Tipo and wife of the well-known pianist Andrea Lucchesini, my
teacher, Valentina Pagni, represents an excellence in the Italian music scene, perpetuating
a teaching tradition that can be traced back to Ferruccio Busoni. It is she who is giving
me a great deal of motivation and seems truly convinced that I have great potential.
Through my musical studies I’m preparing for a possible professional career but, before I
can embark on it, I need an adequate instrument that, along with lessons, is unfortunately
very expensive. My teacher, Valentina Pagni, has personally taken care in finding a piano
that suits my interpretative needs. She has found a quarter grand piano from Rösler, which
would be ideal for me.
Unfortunately, beyond a certain level, it is no longer enough to have a piano that simply
“plays”.
By attending concerts and discussing various interpretations of some performances with
other musicians and music lovers, I have developed a personal interpretative taste over
the years and only a piano of a certain level and quality is capable of reproducing those
interpretative ideas of the person playing it, and responding to the expressive will of the
pianist. I realize that 8,000 euros is a enormous amount, but unfortunately it is the
minimum required to purchase a piano for "professional" use. (It is very frustrating, discouraging, not to mention impossible and senseless, to play on an instrument that is unable to respond to the "commands" of the fingers.)
It is greatly encouraging and stimulating (in addition to being satisfying) to be able to play
on an instrument that is capable of responding to the "commands" of one’s fingers,
because only then does the performance acquire meaning.
Under the guidance of maestro Diego Maccagnola, I am currently studying Brahms'
Sonata No. 1 with a friend who plays the cello, and we have been invited to participate as
a duo in an upcoming competition.
Last year I won a scholarship as a soloist whose jury was chaired by Alexander Lonquich.
I'm really passionate and enthusiastic and I hope very much that, with your help,
I will be able to purchase this piano to continue my journey and one day I hope to give my
contribution to the world of music.
