GET TO KNOW PALLAZZO DELLUX(E)
What is grief, if not love that lost direction?
Pallazzo Dellux(e) emerges from a usually rather dark space. A space lacking warmth. Yet, it emerges when it is too difficult to keep looking away. It's time to undo the layers you have built up to look underneath the first white layer, then lift the whole carpet:

What is grief, if not love that lost direction?
Pallazzo Dellux(e) emerges from a usually rather dark space. A space lacking warmth. Yet, it emerges when it is too difficult to keep looking away. It's time to undo the layers you have built up to look underneath the first white layer, then lift the whole carpet:
Under sorrow lays fear,
underneath anger, compassion
under denial, longing,
underneath grief, lies love.
Pallazzo tries to illuminate the crooked parts we didn’t learn to embrace.
A castle of light that looks straight into the face of grief.
We are making a 35 minute long performance / installation that portrays the different faces that mourning can take through a poetic, queer and femme gaze. We want to find a visual approach to the rather silenced topic of grief in society, and choose to showcase how our bodies deal (or don’t deal) with grief through movement, light, soundscape and poetic script.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
On the 16th of April 2024 Pallazzo Dellux(e) will open its gates in the Bovenzaal of Paradiso Amsterdam.
We are reaching out to the world to help us finance this performance, which is really dear to our hearts. We are an artist duo from Amsterdam who are working with the topic of grief on a personal and global scale. Dealing with grief is a difficult and usually unbearably lonely experience. Our aim is to visually and theatrically represent the phases and faces mourning can take. Creating this space for people to resonate and find console in our words, sounds and play.
We feel delighted to get the opportunity to show this piece in a historic place such as Paradiso Amsterdam and are now asking you to help us realize this project, cover the diligent work of our performers, material costs, promotion and musical accompaniment.

We, the caring creators of Pallazzo Dellux(e) are two young artists based in Amsterdam.
Shushu Sieberns (23) is a poet, filmmaker and performer. Shushu graduated from the VAV Moving Image department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2023. Her main practice revolves around framing and navigating interhuman connections, creating odes, organizing poetry evenings and working on interdisciplinary projects. Her graduation work “Young Human (2023)”, an autoethnographic short film about queerness and her Eastern European grandmother was nominated for the Sprouts Young Talent by SBK Kunstuitleen & Gallery and shown in The Eye Film Cinema, Amsterdam.
Tea (24) is a multidisciplinary artist who graduated from scenography at the Academy of Theatre and Dance Amsterdam in 2023. Their practice consists mostly of painting, designing spaces and performing.
Gravitating towards the barbed and bulky parts of life, there are no questions not worth researching. With their work, Tea is finding a language in the physical realm replacing words for colors and structures, letting the intuition speak the loudest.
