We are a group of third-year Creative Business students at Breda University of Applied Sciences. For our Creative Producing project we are making a drama film with a comedic approach.
Logline: An addiction to frankfurters sends a pigeon man’s life into a downward spiral, which costs him everything.
Synopsis: In this surreal comedy-drama film, we follow the story of Pigeon Man. Pigeon Man is just your average pigeon-human hybrid, until he finds out about frankfurters, specifically from a brand called Frankenfathers Inc. This leads Pigeon Man’s life to go down an absurd downward spiral.
In the beginning, Pigeon Man lives a normal life. He has a boring job with an uptight horse boss, a robin girlfriend way out of his league, a nice little house to live in, and three very nice bird themed shirts that he takes great pride in.
As the story progresses, Pigeon Man’s obsession with frankfurters takes over his whole life, leading to him losing everything he loves, and putting him up against intimidating villains like Rat Landlord and Pig Cop. When at his very lowest, Pigeon Man finds himself on the verge of death. In the realm between life and death he manages to beat Death at his own game and escape with his life.
In the end, Pigeon Man is left with nothing, except for one last opened cans of Frankfurters lying on the floor under the bridge he’s been sleeping under. He tries to reach it but falls and has to crawl towards it. In his struggle, Pigeon Man hallucinates the can of sausages as the hand of god, he tries to reach it but fails, his arm stretched out on the floor, just not touching the last sausages.
We are looking for your support by donating to our project as we embark on our filmmaking journey, we're aware of the multitude of expenses awaiting us. Our top priority remains securing the perfect filming location, an important element for our project's success. We've recognized an Airbnb rental as pivotal in achieving this goal.
A significant portion of our budget will be dedicated to acquiring props. These items are crucial in transforming our chosen locations into immersive canvases for our storytelling. Crafting the intricate world of animals demands meticulous planning and creative vision, and our investment in props reflects this commitment.
Additionally, we must ensure seamless logistics for our crew, cast, and equipment to reach our filming locations. This involves careful consideration of travel arrangements and the necessary days for actors to be on-site, all of which are essential to the smooth operation of our production.
In the midst of these preparations, we must not overlook another vital aspect: catering. Providing nourishing meals for our cast and crew is essential to keep everyone energized and focused throughout the filming process. Therefore, we'll allocate a portion of our budget to cover catering fees, ensuring that everyone involved remains fueled and ready to bring our vision to life.

Obsessed with weird and different film concepts, Veerle sees herself reflected in this odd and absurd media, so maybe it isn't that big of a surprise that she is passionate about working on Frankenfather. Veerle is a very creative and drive director who consistently takes care of her crew and cast. Thinking outside of the box, she pushes the limits of filmmaking to break the 'rules' of film. Her biggest inspirations are Tim Burton and Wes Anderson.
Mauro noticed that whenever there are campaigns, movies or anything about addiction, it quickly gets preachy and talks down to those struggling. It always takes itself almost too seriously. He wanted to take it into a completely new direction. He want to tell a story in the most absurd way possible, without being disrespectful at any point. The idea of frankfurters came from a friend of the writer, who REALLY loves to eat frankfurters, every. day. The idea to have it be a commercial from a big evil company was included to critique the big corporations that feed peoples addictions without a second thought. Overall, he wants this movie to make people laugh, to confuse them, but most of all, to make them think.
Marek has been playing with cameras, computers and technology since he could say F stop. So yeah, You gib camera, he uses camera, he shoots video, he happy. On a serious note, he has worked on multiple video production projects and won the best cinematography for his first year short movie project. Also comedy is his coping mechanism with the existential dread of this word, making him a perfect match with this project.
Editing is a science and an art and boy does Jayden love a challenge. Figuring out how to puzzle together the story and tell a narrative is always a fun experience. The part they enjoy the most, however, is the color. Taking the grey log footage and giving the scene life through the color is like a little treat after every project. Since this project relies heavily on the visuals and audio, Jayden is excited to play around with the coloring of the scenes to show the spiral of addiction from a simple stable life to a myriad of sorrows.
As an ardent enthusiast of sound, Sterre finds themselves immersed in the realm of a dialogue-less film, where auditory elements reign supreme. Within this cinematic landscape, sound transcends its conventional role to become the primary storyteller, captivating audiences without the crutch of dialogue. Every nuanced sound effect, subtle background noise, and strategic musical selection assumes a pivotal role, intricately weaving emotions and propelling the narrative forward. Collaborating closely with the director and editor during post-production, Sterre delves into a realm of innovation, tirelessly pushing creative boundaries to breathe life into the story through the meticulous craft of sound design.
